Claudia Phillips is a Franco-American singer, singing teacher and coach who has been living and working in France since 1977. Throughout her years of experience as a performer and teacher, she has become passionate about pedagogy and now spends the majority of her time teaching trainers. In 2010 she was recruited to run the pop and jazz department at the Ecole Supérieur Musique Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, which delivers 3 university diplomas in pop and jazz for instrumentalists and singers: in musicology, pedagogy and performance. She has been coaching professional artists at the Studio des Variétés in Paris since 1994, and is working on developing the Studio’s activities throughout Europe. She was president of AFPC-EVTA France (French association of singing teachers) from 2006 to 2011, and is the secretary of EVTA (European Voice Teachers Association). During her tenure as president of AFPC, she organized ICVT8 (the eighth International Congress of Voice Teachers) at the Folies Bergère in Paris in 2009, and headed the Young Professionals Programme at ICVT in Stockholm in August, 2017.
