Olaf Furniss is founder of Born To Be Wide, an organisation which hosts music business seminars and Scotland’s music industry convention/showcase, Wide Days.
In 2016 he also founded the company Music Tourist CIC, which hosted the world’s first music tourism summit with the goal of facilitating closer cooperation between the sectors.
Olaf is an occasional journalist writing a weekly column for Scotland on Sunday and is a contributor to various show on BBC Radio Scotland.
He has previously written for The Scotsman, Musik Woche, I-Q, Billboard, Music Week, Audience and fono.
Olaf has given guest lectures at universities in the UK, Norway and Germany, and has worked as a consultant for several music industry conferences including Sonic Visions, Bylarm, Reeperbahn Festival, GoNorth and Berlin Music
