Rules and Regulations
The VCAs are organised by Rockhal – Centre de Musiques Amplifiées, having its regular address in L-4361, Esch-sur-Alzette, 5 avenue du Rock’n’ Roll.
For each application, participants must use the online entry form available on www.sonicvisions.lu/vca to submit a weblink to their video and a brief description of the applicant’s and the video’s details by filling in the mandatory fields: contact person, address, email address, cell phone number, band / artist name, song / video title, video director(s), director’s country of residence, director’s date of birth, song composer(s), official release date, name of the music label*, YouTube link of the video.
Rockhal reserves the right to refuse any material not compatible with standard video formats.
Rockhal only considers the application as complete upon reception of a copy of the video (MP4 HD format only!) within the application period defined below, either by mail (on CD/DVD/USB-Key) to the address:

II. Application Period
Applications for the VCAs may be submitted from July 05 to October 05 2016 (23:59) .
III. Contact Person
The person submitting the entry will be considered the permanent contact throughout the course of the awards program and will receive all correspondence via email, including receipt of entry and winning entry acknowledgement.
The VCAs awards program is open to:
- Luxembourg resident directors or filmmakers who have directed or produced a music video for an international or Luxembourg resident artist or band.
- Luxembourg resident artists and bands who have a video produced by a Luxembourg resident or international director or filmmaker.
- To be eligible for the Video Clip Awards, the video submitted must have been released between January 1 2015 and October 05 2016.
- Videos which have already been awarded during a former edition of the Video Clip Awards are not eligible.
In order to be fully eligible, the applicant has to make sure that the video is publicly available on YouTube and has to submit the corresponding link or else he agrees that the Rockhal publishes a copy of his video via their YouTube channel (see VIII. Reproduction Rights).
VI. Award Categories
Four categories are considered for the VCAs:
- stART-up Award for the best upcoming young director
- Best Music Video by Sacem Luxembourg
- Audience Award by RTL Luxembourg and Eldoradio
- Jury Award
A jury composed of music & audiovisual experts and the VCA partners allocates the awards. The jury’s choice is irrevocable.
VIII. Legal requirements
By submitting a video, the applicant certifies that he owns all rights related to the video and its audio-visual content.
Videos must NOT include, mention or feature any unauthorized/ non-copyrighted material, including but not limited to music, films, photographs, etc., or identifying descriptions of any other copyrighted material.
Rockhal reserves the right to refuse any video which it considers as potentially discriminatory, offensive, threatening, harassing, xenophobic, homophobic or sexist.
IX. Reproduction rights
By submitting an application to the VCAs, the participant agrees that both, the video and the audio material may be freely used by Rockhal and the partners of the VCAs for promotional purposes of the event.
X. Awards Notification
The winners will be officially announced during Sonic Visions Music Conference & Festival on Saturday November 12 2016 and will be notified by email shortly thereafter to the address submitted during the application.
